History
By the Mercy of Allah (S.W.T.), we were able to purchase the property for Masjid Al-Rasheed in late January 2020. The building was originally a hardware store and was not suitable for use as a masjid, so Friday congregational prayers were held at the American Legion Hall in Baldwin. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its restrictions, the masjid remained closed to the public for daily prayers and Jumu'ah. On Eid al-Fitr of 2020, we were finally able to hold an open congregation, and from that day forward we have held daily prayers. We acquired this property with great hopes and a vision for the masjid and the Muslim community.
The Beginning
In late January 2020, by the Mercy of Allah, we purchased the property that would become Masjid Al-Rasheed. What was once a hardware store began its transformation into a house of worship and a center for the community.
